Hot on the catwalks at the Autumn/Winter shows was the statement heel. Prada showed black satin shoes with a large golden heel encrusted in jewels. Proeza Schouler had some tie up strappy sandals with a large metal heel. Marni had some delicate strappy sandals with a ball heel and Byblos showed purple leather pointed boots with a contrasting 4 inch heel. With these designers taking the plunge into the statement heel world they are a wardrobe must have for Autumn/Winter 2017
The slouchy boot with folds was a winner on the catwalks and is set to be one of the biggest trends for the upcoming season. Genny showed 4 inch gold knee-high boots, Michael Kors showed grey suede ankle boots with an offset heel, Bottega Veneta black leather slouchy boots with a wedge heel and Marc Jacobs showed brown leather knee-high boots with a wooden heel.
The new breed of loafers are coming in a range of styles with super feminine additions for the new season including bold colours and big bows
Blugirl’s bowed leopard print loafers are sure to turn heads. MSGM’s yellow patent leather 3 inch heeled loafers with oversized tassels are a new twist on the classic loafer shape. Mulberry’s classic style extends to their super femme sky clue patent leather loafers with a large gold strap. Tory Burch’s take on the loafer is a part brogued white leather shoe with black contrasts, a 2 and a half inch heel and a white and black tassel.
Lace up booties
Lace up booties are also on-trend this autumn winter with the catwalks full of them.
Salvatore Ferragamo showed some brown crocodile skin lace up boots with a raised instep and a four inch heel. Beautiful, but difficult for walking! Julien McDonald showed stiletto heel grey lace ups with a pointed toe and two monk straps. Tod’s showed brown lace up ankle boots with four inch heels on a one piece rubber sole. Trussardi showed rich brown lace up suede ankle boots with three inch heels and a triple straps round the ankle.
The classic closed, low cut shoe is a classic, with one strap or three (never two!) this classic has been brought up to date in the Autumn/Winter collections
Blumarie showed a striking pair of shocking pink stiletto Mary Janes with three thin straps. Dolce & Gabbana showed a pair of distorted leopard print Mary Janes with a floral pattern heel, jewels on the toe and bottle caps and badges on the side. Mulberry showed some rich purple Mary Janes in crocodile skin with three thick straps and adorned with baubles. Prada also had a pair of Mary Janes on show with sky blue satin with blue embroidery at the toe, a pearl look stiletto heel and a large black strap with a turquoise button.
